Art Lovers Tour for Youth Groups  

Rochester has been a cultural center throughout its history.  Today the city offers museums and galleries galore, plus dance, theatre, and music adventures from classical to contemporary.  Rochester paints the town for visitors enjoying this special tour just for art lovers!

Day 1                            

On route to Rochester visit the Gallery of Sporting Art at Genesee Country Village & Museum.  View more than 400 paintings and sculptures of sport hunting and wildlife subjects considered to be on of the continent's largest collections of it's kind.  Meet with the curator.

Afternoon Arrival at hotel - Welcome Reception

Dinner @ one of several popular restaurants from great

Barbeque to dining on Lake Ontario.

9 pm- The River of Light sound and light laser show above High Falls.  (seasonal)                     

      

Day 2                         

Breakfast at Hotel or Breakfast with the Animals at the Seneca Park Zoo.  

High Falls Visitors Center & Guided City Tour

Tour @ Memorial Art Gallery known to have the best & most diverse art collection outside of Manhattan.  The gallery offers an exciting new way to teach using works of art to guide and encourage Students to develop skills of observation, interpretation  and problem solving.

Lunch on own along Park Avenue.

Artisan Works is a unique, eclectic collection, many created by regional artists.  25 studios are located in this exceptional gallery.  View the artists as they create their masterpieces. (Student workshops can be set up with the artists on demand). Students will interact with the artists during their visit.  Glass, woodworking, sculpture, paint, metal and more. 

5pm- R & R

6:30pm- Dinner Cruise along the Erie Canal on the Colonial Belle in Fairport, the Rose Lumis in Spencerport, the Sam Patch in Pittsford or the Mary Jemison in downtown Rochester. (Spring through fall season).

 

Day 3                    

Breakfast @ Hotel

Come aboard Wild Hearts, a 49 passenger catamaran. Rejuvenate and invigorate on this one of a kind sailing experience along Lake Ontario.

George Eastman House International Museum of Film and Photography.  Students will be given a special viewing of unique photos from the GEH archive collections.

12:30pm- On route home stop for lunch at one of several food courts located in area malls around Rochester.
